I am just your average guy who is stuck between the real world and this fictional place some refer to as college. At the moment Im taking five classes while trying to juggle a social life and other obligations. I am very interested in my major (Advertising) and am pretty exited about some of the classes I am currently in.

Offensive Ad
This ad is one that many of us have seen before. It can be viewed as one that offends women and sends a very wrong message at the same time. The woman in the picture looks as if she is being held down against her will. There are multiple other men around that choose not to help any only watch. This ad teaches young men to behave in a manor that is plain wrong. People can take offense to this for other reasons as well. What is D&G even trying to say? It is very interesting to see when a company try's to be bold and it backfires.
Guerilla Marketing
I really like this outdoor ad that allows people to see this storm drain as a dirty grill. If your grill looks like this, and many do, then it is your time to buy a new grill. The add itself is very unique and simplistic. They just add a spatula to a dirty drain and along with the text we see what is happening. It is really interesting to me when people think outside the box and create great visuals. This advertisement works because it brings up a very common issue that a lot of people can associate with. We all try to hold on to items like this for far too long especially when our economy is like this but we all realize at the same time that we should never let it get this bad. Then they give us a way to fix it by calling.

4 very interesting ads
1. Cake “Sexy”- For this ad I really feel like it is very funny yet quite offensive. It does however get across the point that they do a great job at digitally altering photos. I’m not sure whom their target is, but I did get a nice chuckle from this piece.
2. The gum ad is not quite as funny to me. I don’t really like how they compare their gums happiness to the work that Gandhi or Mother Theresa is known for. I do however like the creativity of the gum forming pictures of their faces.
3. This ad is very funny but I feel as though it does not really get the message across. It makes you laugh but would it really ever make you want to hire the blind so you can do things with out them seeing? The ad is funny but does nothing to effectively promote the work of the blind.
4. Designers are always trying to be bold and get an edge in their industry but this is just plain and simple over the top. To try to make a joke out of the very serious situation in Cairo and profit from it are downright wrong.

3 Outdoor Ads
This is an awesome outdoor ad!! If I saw this while walking by I would directly walk into the next store for a KitKat bar. I really enjoyed their use of the bench and the image of an open KitKat bar.
I enjoyed this ad because it directly speaks to the people in this neighborhood. If restaurant prices are rising, no one is happy. This is especially true when you can do something about it. This advertisement gives us a problem and a solution and I really think is it very effective because of it.
This ad by google is to gain market share in in moscow. They show through this ad how easy it is to look up what they need and really do a nice job. The bench looks almost like a laptop and looks like someone is searching right in front of us. Very cool ad!

3 ADS
The first ad that I want to talk about uses omission and objection. It really allows the viewer to look at the image first and wonder what is going on before telling us with a short caption. It uses a sort of comedic image to deal with a serious issue of people driving while talking on their phones. I think the ad is really well done and makes me think twice about using my cell phone while talking about stupid stuff that can clearly wait until I’m off the road.
This second ad uses telling stories as well as playing with time. They create this story about the men going into battle to get their “golden” beer. They also use characters from a time period where men would actually go into battle for gold or land. The ad is actually pretty humorous.
Ad number three uses combination to show peoples different styles of music and that they can offer them all. They use a combination of artists such as Elvis, Michael Jackson and Kiss’s Gene Simmons to create a man with many different styles. I really like how they use combination to create this ad.

Fav Ad
I really liked the new 2011 Volkswagon beetle ad where in the beginning it is clear to the viewer that the bug represents a very cool car and emulates things really cool cars in movies do, just in a wooded setting instead of on pavement. All the other bugs literally stop and stare at the beetle bug and the music in the background "Black betty" playing in the background really worked well with the stunts that the bug (car) was performing. At the end the beetle turns into a black screen with a silver outline of the new car. I thought the use of bugs worked really well to embody the car. The commercial makes the car look very fun but with an edge, something that beetles haven't had much of in the past.
